India’s July crude oil imports rise over 9% month-on-month

India’s crude oil imports in July rose more ​than 9% from ​the previous month to 21.41 million metric tons, ​government data showed on Wednesday.

On an annual basis, crude oil imports were up 13%, from 18.89 million tons in July last ‌year, data ⁠from ⁠the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell showed.

* Imports of crude oil ​products fell nearly 2% to 2.53 million tons in July from ​June and fell over 40% from a year ago. Product exports rose over 8% to 5.03 million tons annually.

* India’s ​fuel consumption in July rose ⁠about 3% ‌from the previous month to 19.92 million ​metric tons, ​its highest level since March.

* LPG imports ⁠ticked lower to 870,000 metric tons in ​July from 1.02 million tons in the previous ​month, while fuel oil imports rose month-on-month to 233,000 metric tons, and were down from 530,000 metric tons in July last year.

* Petrol exports last month were 6.7% higher year-on-year and ​diesel exports ​were up ⁠nearly 9% during the same period.
