New Delhi: The ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and the statistics ministry signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to share unit-level Udyam Registration data available with the MSME department. The data will support the development of the National Statistical Business Register (SBR).
The SBR will serve as a comprehensive database of business establishments across the country. Under the MoU, the two ministries will develop a structured format for sharing information from the MSME ministry’s enterprise registration system with the ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI).

“This information will contribute to improving the comprehensiveness, uniformity, and reliability of business information used for statistical purposes,” said the MSME ministry in a statement.
