New Delhi: India is accelerating negotiations for a proposed free trade agreement (FTA) with Canada and talks are ongoing with Chile and Peru though engagements with the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), have paused due to the West Asia conflict, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said Tuesday at the At the World Intellectual Property Day celebrations.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, are members of the GCC. In February, India and the GCC started negotiations for a proposed FTA.
