The expanded coverage, offered through credit risk insurance from the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC), was previously set to expire for West Asia-bound consignments sent after September 30.
“The eligibility timelines under Component II of the EPM RELIEF intervention are extended up to 31st March 2027 to support Indian exporters and mitigate logistics challenges arising out of the continuing West Asia crisis,” announced the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in its notification.

Component II of the EPM (export promotion mission) RELIEF (Resilience and Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation) initiative is designed to provide credit insurance backing for outbound shipments headed to the Gulf, West Asia, and North Africa regions.
First introduced on March 19 of this year, the enhanced risk protection was structured under the EPM’s RELIEF scheme to shield domestic exporters from trade disruptions caused by regional conflict.
Through the RELIEF initiative, exporters opting for ECGC policies can secure up to 95 percent credit risk coverage, compared to the standard 85 to 90 percent threshold. The government is absorbing the additional fee required for this upgraded safeguard, which also extends to cargo transshipped through West Asian hubs.
