“India’s demand for electricity continues to expand as its economy grows, and meeting that demand will require a diverse and reliable energy mix. American companies across the civil nuclear supply chain are ready to support India’s plan to expand nuclear power capacity, helping provide the stable base load energy for the long term,” Gor said.He also noted India’s early participation in a key US-led initiative.

“And I want to highlight that India was one of the first that the United States reached out to and invited to join Pax Silica among the first 10 in the world,” Gor said.

On broader strategic coordination in the Indo-Pacific, Gor said strengthening the Quad remained an important objective for Washington.

“One of our goals is to revive the QUAD,” Gor said, referring to the grouping of the United States, India, Japan and Australia known as the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue.
