US police release video of taser use on Black man who died

Police in Raleigh, North Carolina released a video showing the events that led to the death of an unarmed Black man last month after officers repeatedly discharged stun guns on him. In edited footage made public on Friday by the Raleigh police department, Darryl Tyree Williams can be heard telling cops who are struggling to handcuff him that he suffers from heart problems.
Six cops have been placed on administrative leave while several probes into the January 17 event are ongoing. The video shows officers approaching Williams’ parked car. Police observed alcohol and marijuana in the car, as per a preliminary report, and one officer decided to arrest Williams after he found a folded dollar bill in his pocket that appeared to contain “a white powdery substance”.
The video shows multiple officers at the scene trying to subdue Williams who resisted arrest. He is then pinned to the ground. Police kept deploying their tasers on Williams even after he informed them about his heart issues.
