Battlefield 2042 Season 6: What’s new
The latest season of the military shooter title includes a new map, named Redacted. The game’s developer explains the map as: “Inspired by fan-favourite maps from like Operation Locker (Battlefield 4) and Operation Metro (Battlefield 3). This claustrophobic, close-quarters combat-focused map takes place in the Scottish Hebrides where an ‘incident’ has revealed a hidden tech-research facility performing classified experiments.
Located within an underground subterranean environment, this is our first map in the Battlefield franchise that offers no outdoor environment. You’ll need to use the tight corridors and elevated areas to play the enemy into your hand – or risk falling into a trap yourself. This facility – with its biodomes and laboratories – hides more than its fair share of secrets for you to discover as you seek out your prey. Just be sure not to get distracted as the enemy will use any chance to turn the tables and ambush you.”
Apart from the map, the latest season of the game also includes new weapons like — G428 marksman rifle, the L9CZ semi-automatic gun and the VHX D3 assault rifle. This season also introduces new gadgets and weapons like Ammo and Medical pouches and the two-seater YUV-2 “Pondhawk” vehicle that can also fly.
Battlefield 2042 Season 6 also includes a new battle pass and other minor adjustments, like improved aim assist and vehicle handling.
