LONDON: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called on public-sector trade unions on Thursday to end strikes now that his government had accepted recommendations for pay rises from an independent advisory body.
“I urge all union leaders to accept these pay offers and call off their strikes,” Sunak told a news conference.
Sunak added that the latest pay offer was final, and the government would not hold any further talks on pay.
