Prince Harry’s UK visit sparks rumours of reconciliation effort with King Charles III

Prince Harry’s unexpected trip to England to attend the funeral of his uncle, Robert Fellowes had reportedly suggested that he is seeking a reunion with his father, King Charles III.
The Duke of Sussex made the last-minute decision to fly to the UK to attend the memorial service on Wednesday, August 28, in Norfolk, where his estranged brother, Prince William, was also present.
Royal journalist Dan Wootton earlier on Friday said that King Charles is “concerned about Harry losing the Netflix deal and coming cap in hand asking for a cash handout,” if they meet for his son’s hoped-for reunion.”
“But the risk is with the monarch, weakened as he continues to suffer from serious cancer, under pressure from Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and always more open to a ceasefire in order to live an easier life in his twilight years,” Wootton told InTouch Weekly.
The second son of King Charles last met his father face-to-face during a short trip to London in February, just a day after the monarch publicly shared his cancer diagnosis. Wootton said the brief meeting between father and son was tense, and their relationship remains strained.
“Phone calls have not been returned and the in-person meeting after his cancer announcement was moved to Clarence House instead of Sandringham so that it could be limited to less than half an hour” between Charles and Harry he said.
It seems that the duke’s desire for reconciliation appeared to be dashed, as “in recent months, Charles, with wise encouragement from [Queen] Camilla, has finally realized dealing with Harry is a hindrance to his recovery,” the journalist added.
Arrived very discreetly
Prince Harry, 39, and Prince William, 42, both recently attended a service at St. Mary’s Church in Snettisham, Norfolk. Despite being in the same place, the brothers did not sit together during the ceremony and maintained a noticeable distance from each other, The Sun reported.
“William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance,” a source told the publication in an article published on Thursday.
“I didn’t know they were there. They arrived very discreetly, “ another added.
The Royal rift
Both the Princes have reportedly been at odds since November 2018, when a royal reporter claimed that Harry believed his older brother wasn’t sufficiently welcoming to Meghan Markle.
“It’s actually that William and Harry have had a rift. I think you know, look. All brothers fall out. All families fall out. Their fallout at the moment is becoming public,” royal filmmaker Nick Bullen told Fox News in March 2019, InTouch Weekly reported.
“These are two boys who lost their mother [Princess Diana] at a really early age, and the fairy tale is that they are closer than ever, and need each other, and I think that’s probably true, but equally they are two grown men in their 30s, starting their own families, different wives, they are moving to different parts of the country, different duties,” he added.
