'Only few people know...': Kate Middleton’s absence raises concern among staff

NEW DELHI: Kate Middleton‘s absence from public view since January has left her senior staffers in the dark about her recovery from abdominal surgery.
Sources close to the palace reveal that some of Middleton’s key aides hadn’t even been aware of the surgery until it was announced to the public, causing surprise and concern among them, US Weekly reported.
“A few of Kate’s senior staffers haven’t been able to see or speak to her, and they didn’t even know about the surgery until it was announced, so it’s caught them off guard,” Us Weekly reported quoting a source.
“Only a few people know what’s really going on, and they’re tight-lipped,” a source told the outlet. “It’s confusing and causing some concern.”
Furthermore, palace sources disclose that the staff were unaware of Middleton’s operation until after it had taken place, with only a select few privy to the full extent of her situation. Her recovery process has been described as shrouded in secrecy, with few visitors aside from close family members.
The palace has remained tight-lipped about Middleton’s post-operative recovery, leading to widespread speculation and rumors. Despite the media frenzy, Middleton and Prince William have opted to keep details of her surgery private, asserting her right to privacy over her medical records.
The incident leading to these comments involves Kate Middleton’s edited photograph, released on Mother’s Day, which faced criticism for signs of manipulation. This photo, marking her first official appearance since her abdominal surgery, led to Kate issuing a personal apology for the editing, noting her amateur photography interests.
The backlash from the photo editing incident has led to doubts about the reliability of information from Kensington Palace, especially concerning updates on Kate’s health post-surgery. Notably, global news director of Agence France-Presse (AFP), Phil Chetwynd, expressed scepticism about considering the Palace a trustworthy source.
As the controversy continues, the public’s access to information on Kate’s health remains a point of debate. Meanwhile, Prince William’s recent public engagements serve as a return to his scheduled activities while Kate recovers, with her expected return to public duties post-Easter.
