The podcast, titled “Archetypes,” will not see a second season as Spotify begins to revamp its content offerings.
According to reports, the couple was unable to fulfill the productivity requirements necessary to receive the full payout from their Spotify deal.
This decision has sparked strong reactions among Spotify employees, with some individuals reportedly referring to Meghan and Prince Harry as “lazy” and “f**king grifters,” as revealed by sources cited in Page Six.
Bill Simmons, the head of Spotify’s international sports content, voiced his opinion on his own podcast, suggesting that “‘The f**king grifters’ would have been a better podcast to launch with them.”
On the other hand, talent agents from William Morris Endeavor, who represent Meghan, defended the podcast, stating that the team behind “Archetypes” remains proud of the content they created on Spotify. They also revealed that Meghan is currently working on developing more content for the “Archetypes” audience on a different platform.
The termination of the Spotify deal coincides with reports of financial challenges faced by Meghan and Harry. Sources indicate that the couple’s annual expenditure on private security amounts to approximately $2 million, and Harry’s legal battles have further strained their finances.
Meanwhile, the rift between Meghan, Harry, and the British royal family also continues to unfold. Recent reports suggest that Prince Harry has not received an invitation to the upcoming Trooping the Colour celebration hosted by the royal family.
