NEW DELHI: Prince William on Sunday wished Father’s day by sharing a nostalgic photo of him playing football with King Charles.
Just as social media also is flooded with people sharing emotional tributes to their fathers on the occasion of Father’s Day, this photo shared of Prince William and King Charles playing together dates back to June 12 1984, according to reports.
In a wish shared from the official social media handle of The Prince and Princess of Wales, the old photo showed King Charles (then a prince) looking at his smiling son. The photo was captioned ” Happy Father’s Day, Pa”. The post was signed off with just the letter “W.”
This comes after King Charles’s official birthday celebrations on Saturday, where the Princess of Wales made her first public appearance this year.
Kate looked relaxed during her first day in the spotlight following her cancer diagnosis for the traditional Trooping the Colour ceremony.
With King Charles also suffering from cancer, it marked rare joint public outing for the entire family after a period of uncertainty.
Both Kate and Charles have thanked the public for their support after going public with their illnesses, with Kate saying she had been “blown away” by the “kind messages” that had made a “world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times”.
