Eight injured after 'major stabbing' in UK's Southport



At least eight people were stabbed after a ‘major stabbing’ incident in the United Kingdom’s Southport on Monday, local police said in a statement.
The North West Ambulance Service reported that they had provided medical assistance to eight individuals and transported them to three different hospitals.
The Merseyside police confirmed that they have arrested person and that he has been taken to a police station.
“Armed police have detained a male and seized a knife. He has been taken to a police station,” the statement said. The police have also urged the public to avoid the area while they handle the situation, assuring that there is no broader threat to the community.
