Prince William and Princess of Wales Kate Middleton extended their “love, thoughts and prayers” to the ones affected after a knife rampage targeting a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in northern England left two children dead and nine other injured with a juvenile suspect arrested and witnesses likening the killing spree to a “horror movie.”
Soon after the news broke of the deadly “major stabbing”, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted a heartfelt post on X.“As parents, we cannot begin to imagine what the families, friends and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through .We send our love, thoughts and prayers to all those involved in this horrid and heinous attack,” the royal couple said in the post.
“Thank you also to the emergency responders who, despite being met with the most horrific scenes, demonstrated compassion and professionalism when your community needed you most,” they added.

Meanwhile, King Charles also released a statement to condemn the incident and extend condolences the deceased and injured. “My wife and I have been profoundly shocked to hear of the utterly horrific incident in Southport today, ” the message read.

“We send our most heartfelt condolences, prayers and deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who have so tragically lost their lives, and to all those affected by this truly appalling attack.”
A witness, who is a local businessman was quoted by multiple media sources as describing the scene like a “horror movie”.
Two children died and nine others were injured in a knife attack in northwest England. So far, a 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Merseyside Police reported that armed officers responded to reports of a stabbing at approximately 11.50 am (1050 GMT) at a residence in Southport, north of Liverpool. A knife was seized during the arrest of the suspect. Among the injured are six children and two adults who are in critical condition.
The police have so far maintained that the motive for the attack remains unclear, but they do not believe it to be terrorism-related and are not seeking any other suspects in connection with the incident.
“Armed police have detained a male and seized a knife. He has been taken to a police station,” the statement read. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area while they manage the situation and have assured that there is no wider threat to the community.
