In a recent discussion on Pakistani news channel 24 News HD, popular Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir has made several sensational claims about former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and the dire situation of the Pakistan army.

During a conversation with Nasim Zehra on City 42 show, Mir claimed that Bajwa was eager to host Indian PM Narendra Modi in April, 2021 and was in talks with Indian NSA Ajit Doval regarding this. Mir claims that PM Modi’s visit was scheduled for Pakistan soon after a ceasefire agreement was signed between India and Pakistan. Bajwa was ready to strike a deal on Kashmir with India, he disclosed.

Interestingly, as per Mir, all these backchannel talks were being done without keeping former Pakistan PM Imran Khan and foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the loop.
“Bajwa’s deal on Kashmir has not yet been revealed to Pakistani citizens. After the ceasefire along the Line of Control with India, Modi had to visit Pakistan. When Foreign Office came to know about it, they went to Imran Khan as they were unaware about it. Imran said that he knew about it and the talks were going on with Doval, but had no confirmation about Modi’s visit to Pakistan,” said Mir.
Not only this, both Mir and Zehra claimed that Bajwa had confessed in presence of 25 journalists during a briefing in General Headquarters of Pakistan Army, Rawalpindi that Pakistan Army is not in condition to fight India and is no match for the Indian Army.

“We are not capable of any fight with India over Kashmir. Our tanks have no fuel to run, our troops can’t move, hence we should make peace with India,” Mir quoted Bajwa as saying.
The video of their discussion has gone viral on social media, with several Pakistani and Indian influencers sharing it.

The veracity of Mir’s claim about the proposed Modi visit cannot be established, but the explosive claims made by him show how Pakistan Army has the realization that it lacks ammunition and economic strength to fight India.
Pakistanis are furious and demoralized with the revelations made by Mir and have vented out their anger on the micro-blogging platform.
