The excerpts, which are being widely circulated online, showed that Bushra greatly influenced the PTI leader’s key political and personal decisions, Pakistan-based The News International reported.
The development comes a day after Bushra Bibi met Khan in Attock jail in Pakistan’s Punjab, marking their first meeting since his arrest.
Khan was arrested on August 5 in the Toshkhana case after being accused of allegedly trading state gifts valued over Rs 140 million ($635,000) acquired during foreign trips.
Bushra’s diary contains various entries, including one that indicated her influence in pressuring the judiciary, army and government, the report said.
It also reveals plans in case the governor’s rule were to be imposed in Pakistan’s Punjab, suggesting preparedness for a city shutdown and strike.
Additionally, the diary reveals Bushra Bibi’s involvement in legal affairs, directing Khan’s interactions with lawyers and advising his silence.
The diary entry shared online exposed a strategy to shape a positive court verdict in favour of Khan or a reversal in case a negative verdict is given.
It suggests packing the court with people, securing skilled lawyers and applying pressure to influence the outcome. It further shed light on how she influenced Khan’s diet, routine and the information that was to be shared.
Imran’s party PTI has denied any link between the diary and Bushra Bibi
Refuting allegations, a PTI spokesperson stated that the diary has no relation to Imran’s wife, adding that she neither owns it nor confirms its contents.
The party further added that this is just an effort to shift the focus from actual issues like the Shehbaz Sharif government’s authoritarianism, Constitutional breaches, and law violations.
