An Indian student studying in Toronto, Canada, has been found dead after he went missing on May 5. The body of Bhavnagar native Ayush Dankhara, 23, was found below a bridge on May 7. Son of Ramesh Dankhara, a DSP with the Gujarat Police, is the second student from the state studying in Toronto‘s York University to have died under suspicious circumstances in less than a month. On April 16, Ahmedabad resident Harsh Patel was found dead. Both their bodies were found near waterbodies. Both went missing for over a day and in both cases, the phones were missing.
Naran Dankhara, Ayush’s uncle, told TOI that Ayush completed his studies till Class XII from Gandhinagar and headed for York University for his Bachelor of Engineering course in computer science. “He was living in a shared apartment in Toronto. His room partner informed my brother on May 6 that Ayush had not returned home for a day and he could not be contacted,” he said. A missing complaint with Toronto police led the family to a body found on May 7 from a waterbody below a bridge. The photo confirmed the deceased to be Ayush.
