VIJAYAWADA: Ujvala Vemuru (23), an Indian-Australian girl with roots in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, tragically lost her life after falling into a waterfall while trekking at Yanbacoochie Falls, Lamington National Park in southeast Queensland, Australia on Tuesday.
Ujvala completed her MBBS from Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia, and subsequently worked at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital. Ujvala’s parents, Vemuru Venkateswara Rao and Maithili, settled in Australia several years ago. Although born in Australia, Ujvala maintained a connection with her ancestral roots in Andhra Pradesh.
