Indian-origin family of four killed in a fire accident in Kuwait



NEW DELHI: An Indian-origin family of four lost their lives in a fire that broke out at their home, in Abbassia in Kuwait. The accident occurred on Friday night, shortly after the family had returned to Kuwait on Thursday, completing their vacation.
The deceased have been identified as Mathew Muzhakkal, his wife Lini Abraham, and their two children, Isaac and Erin who hailed from Pathanamthitta in Kerala.
A relative of the deceaseds on Saturday said: “Mathew has been working there for the past 15 years. His wife is a nurse. The children are studying there. They left after their vacation on Thursday night from Nedumbassery.”
According to preliminary reports the cause of the fire may have been a short circuit in the air conditioning unit located in the room.
The victim’s families are still waiting for official word regarding the transportation of the bodies to their respective hometowns. Among the deceased is Mathew, who leaves behind his mother and three siblings.
Authorities are currently investigating the matter to ascertain more information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
