Brazilian national booked for killing Hyd woman in London

HYDERABAD: The London police have charged Brazilian national Keven Antonio Lourenco De Moraise with the murder of Tejaswini Reddy Kontham, a 27-year-old woman from Hyderabad who he had allegedly stabbed and killed on June 13.
The 23-year-old assailant has also been charged with attempt to murder for allegedly stabbing another Telugu woman, 28-year-old Akhila, who was sharing the flat with Tejaswini. Akhila is reportedly out of danger and under treatment at a local hospital.

“Two other people arrested in connection with this investigation were released with no further action,” police officials said in a statement.
Tejaswini’s family has urged the government to help bring her body back to India. Ibrahimpatnam MLA M Kishan Reddy, who visited the family, assured them that he would discuss with municipal administration minister K T Rama Rao measures to bring back the body.
The office of Union minister G Kishan Reddy, too, said it was in touch with Shivaram Reddy, a relative of Tejaswini in London, regarding the no-objection certificate needed to bring the body home from the UK.
Tejaswini’s parents were in shock and unable to accept their daughter’s death. As TOI had reported, they were expecting Tejaswini to return soon and get married. She had told them that she would come home after they had found her a match. Tejaswini had gone to the UK in 2020 for an MSc degree. After her studies, she had taken up a part-time job and had moved to Wembley recently as it was closer to her place of work.
The Brazilian national was staying in a separate room in the same rented accommodation as Tejaswini and Akhila. He was said to have moved into the complex only a week ago.
