AP Woman: Ap Woman, Daughter Die In Us Road Accident | Vijayawada News



VIJAYAWADA: A woman from Andhra Pradesh and her five-year-old daughter died in a car accident that happened in Portland, USA, on Saturday. While the little girl, Hanika, died on the spot when their car collided with another vehicle near Woodburn area on highway 211 towards Hubbard in Oregon, her mother Kamatham Geetanjali (32), who was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital in Portland, succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.
Geetanjali hailed from Konakanchi in NTR district. Her husband, Naresh, and son, Braman, are recuperating in the hospital and are said to be out of danger.
The family was travelling to a tulip festival to celebrate Geetanjali’s birthday. when the accident happened. Geetanjali suffered damage to her brain under the impact of the collision and was immediately airlifted to a hospital in Portland, where she slipped into coma and passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest while on life support in the ICU.
Mortal remains to be sent to India
H er son Braman is recovering from surgery for a broken leg, while husband Naresh is being treated for broken ribs and a fractured shoulder. The family is facing financial burden as Geetanjali had lost her job a few months back. As Naresh is the sole earner for the family, they are struggling to manage the funeral expenses for Geetanjali and Hanika. Plans are being made to transport their mortal remains to India. To assist the family in this difficult time, Srinivas Thanneeru, a friend of Naresh, is organising a Gofundme campaign to help cover the costs of repatriating the mortal remains.
