Batra has more than a decade of experience in FMCG and agri industries. In his new role, he will oversee strategic initiatives for enhancing the startup’s market presence and driving growth. His responsibilities include entering new markets, scaling marketing efforts, driving margins, optimising customer acquisition strategies, and expanding reach across diverse agri markets.

Batra earlier served as Gramophone’s business head of retail business. Prior to joining the startup, he had stints at nurture.retail and JioMart.

“Our mission to empower farmers through innovative technology aligns perfectly with my passion for transforming the agricultural landscape. Together, we will continue to support and uplift the farming community, ensuring they have access to the best resources and guidance throughout their journey,” said Batra.

The agritech startup offers an intelligent farming platform for farmers in India. Through technology, it manages the entire farmer experience, from agronomy-led advice to fulfilling farm input needs via a distribution network serving over 50,000 villages. The platform works with over 2 million farmers and retailers, providing guidance throughout the crop life cycle, from seed selection and sowing to the efficient use of agri inputs.

“Navneet’s extensive experience in the FMCG and agri input sectors, combined with his proven track record of driving growth and innovation, makes him an invaluable addition to our leadership team. His strategic insights and expertise in marketing will be instrumental as we continue to expand our reach and impact,” said Tauseef Khan, cofounder and CEO of Gramophone.
