Deeptech company Greentech raises Rs 30 crore from Transition VC

Greentech Megawatt, a Coimbatore-based wind turbine operations and maintenance company, has raised Rs 30 crore in its first funding round, from Transition VC.

Founded in 2018, the company was bootstrapped until now, but decided to raise funds after integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its products, founder Daniel Raj told ET.

The company manages OEM-agnostic multi-brand wind assets and provides full-scope O&M, predictive maintenance, data analytics, SCADA modernisation, component repairs and crane-less major component exchanges.

The company’s global control centre in Coimbatore oversees operations, with a supply chain that includes over 100 suppliers, 20 repair loops, multiple component partners and 6,000 components in stock.

The capital will be used to expand Greentech’s infrastructure and prioritise upgrades to its AI/ML predictive maintenance platforms, SCADA analytics systems and business development in India and international wind markets.

The funding will also support the scaling of AI-driven predictive technology and turning repair facilities into hubs for mechanical, electrical, generator, gearbox and electronics work, the company said. Greentech is looking to rake in multiple times higher revenue in the next two years through these expansions.
