In June, the government approved the interest rate on EPF deposits of 8.1 percent for 2021-22, down from 8.5% in the previous year. Some Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) subscribers are yet to receive their interest for FY22, while others have received it.
However, time and again the EPFO has assured its subscribers that its interest credit is an ongoing process. EPF who have not received their interest took it to twitter to complain.

On the EPFO website’s employee section and select “Member Passbook.” You can access the PF passbook by providing your UAN and password. The opening and closing balances, as well as employee and employer contributions, will be detailed. The total of any PF transfers, as well as the amount of PF interest earned, will be displayed. The subscribers can now easily check their PF balance at home on the UMANG application.
Step 1: Download and install Umang app
Step 2: Register from your mobile number
Step 3: Choose “EPFO” from the options
Step 4: Click “View Passbook.”
Step 5: After entering your UAN, click Get OTP.
Step 6: Select “Login.”
Your passbook and EPF balance will be shown on the screen.

How to check EPF balance using missed call
If you are registered on the UAN site, you can obtain the information by dialling 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number. Check that your bank account details, Aadhaar, and PAN have all been planted into your UAN. You could even ask your boss to plant them for you. This service is free of charge.

According to the EPFO website, these are the important points to note regarding EPFO passbook
1. This facility is to view the Member Passbook for the members registered on the Unified Member Portal.
2. Passbook will be available after 6 Hours of registration at Unified Member Portal.
3. Changes in the credentials at Unified Member Portal will be effective at this Portal after after 6 Hours.
4. Passbook will have the entries which has been reconciled at the EPFO field offices.
5. Passbook facility not be available for the Exempted Establishments Members / Settled Members / InOperative Members.
