The Central Board of Direct Taxes‘ Saturday notification, however, said the extension does not apply to tax audit reports, transfer pricing certification and other forms. The deadline for these continues to be October 31.
Industry experts welcomed the move, saying it will reduce stress during the festive season. “This extension allows taxpayers and professionals to prioritise accuracy and compliance,” said Rajat Mohan, senior partner at AMRG & Associates.
Sandeep Jhunjhunwala, tax partner at Nangia Andersen LLP, said: “It is crucial, however, to take note that this extension would not apply to tax audit report, transfer pricing certification in form 3CEB and other income tax forms such as Form 10DA, which would still remain due on October 31, 2024.”
