HYDERABAD: Investigators from the customs department’s Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) detained a female traveller at RGI Airport and recovered 1,237 grammes of gold worth 64.38 lakh rupees.
According to a Customs agent, the woman secreted the gold paste wrapped in duct tape in her rectum. After she arrived from Dubai on flight EK-526 on Wednesday, officials drew the woman aside using the passenger profiling approach. Customs agents are looking for additional gang members who are involved in the gold smuggling business. A lawsuit was filed in accordance with the Customs Act.
