Bengaluru: The Office of the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Bengaluru, in partnership with the Karnataka government and the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), will host a state-level workshop on October 30 at The Lalit Ashok to help local businesses capitalise on India’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), according to a Press Information Bureau (PIB) release.

The outreach initiative aims to boost Karnataka’s export competitiveness and expand international market access by driving awareness and effective utilisation of trade pacts, particularly recently concluded agreements.

Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil is scheduled to inaugurate the event and address exporters, alongside senior officials from both the Union and state governments.

Nearly 200 participants are expected to attend, including prominent state exporters, officials from District Industries Centres (DICs), Export Promotion Council (EPC) representatives, and industry stakeholders.

Technical sessions will feature presentations by Abhay Sinha, Director General of the Services Export Promotion Council, on services-sector opportunities, and Tamanna Chaturvedi, Trade Advisor at the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), on emerging avenues and policy interventions for Karnataka under new FTAs.

The release added that the workshop will also feature dedicated sectoral discussions to pinpoint export potential and practical solutions across four focus areas: agriculture, dairy, marine products and food processing; textiles, apparel and made-ups; engineering, electronics and semiconductors; and services.
