CBIC chairman Vivek Chaturvedi met a delegation led by Shefali Goradia, chairperson, Deloitte, South Asia and the Silicon Valley Tax Directors Group (SVTDG), which brings together tax directors and finance executives from more than 100 leading US technology companies, primarily headquartered in the Silicon Valley region.
Discussions focused on “further simplifying GST and Customs policies”, with the aim of improving the ease of doing business and facilitating greater investment by Silicon Valley companies in India, the CBIC said in a post on X. The delegation underlining the growing interest among tech companies in India’s investment and business environment.

The engagement comes as India seeks to make its tax and regulatory framework more predictable and business-friendly for global technology and manufacturing companies looking to expand their presence in the country.
