Russia has substantially increased fertiliser exports to India and is ready to further boost supplies of environmentally friendly fertilisers to the South Asian nation, Russian Fertilizer Producers Association president Andrey Guryev told ET.
Russia is the top fertiliser supplier to India, accounting for 26% of its imports. Supplies from Russia, in fact, have emerged as a key pillar in the bilateral economic partnership benefiting Indian farmers.
According to Guryev, the increasing supplies reflect a reorientation of Russian exports towards Brics markets.
India has been actively purchasing Russian fertilisers, increasing imports to record levels since the middle of 2023, while Russia has been consolidating its position as a key partner for India in this sector, Guryev said.
