“We are in the middle of a national identity crisis. We have celebrated our diversity so much that we forgot all the ways we are really the same as Americans, bound by ideals that united a divided, headstrong group of people 250 years ago. I believe deep in my bones those ideals still exist. I am running for President to revive them,” Ramaswamy, 37, said in a video announcing his intention to run for president.
He added this was not just a political campaign, “but a cultural movement”. “Faith, patriotism and hard work have disappeared. Wokeism, climatism and gender ideology have replaced them. We hunger for purpose yet cannot answer what it means to be an American. We long for that answer,” he added.
