Quick commerce platform Zepto is scaling up its cafe business — which sells coffee, croissants and other items — across the country aiming to hit an annualised revenue run rate (ARR) of Rs 1,000 crore within the next financial year, per a statement from the company.

Currently, the service is available at more than 120 cafes across stores in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bengaluru, with plans to expand to cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune.

This move comes at a time when food delivery platform Swiggy has also rolled out a 10-minute food delivery service Bolt in key markets such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Pune. Also, Bengaluru-based 10-minute food-delivery startup Swish, which covers a variety of categories including indulgences, snacks, beverages, and meals, operates several cloud kitchens in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout and Bellandur areas.

General Catalyst-backed Zepto said it is launching over 100 cafes per month as it expands the quick delivery of food items across the country.

“With Zepto Café, we’ve combined India’s favourite snacks and beverages with our 10-minute delivery model to create a service that resonates deeply with our customers. The response has been phenomenal, with Zepto Café now achieving an annual run rate GMV of Rs 160 crore with just 15% of our expanding dark store network with proven unit economics,” said cofounder and chief executive Aadit Palicha.

Zepto Cafe offers a diverse menu with more than 148 items, including tea, coffee, all-day breakfast options, pastries, and savoury snacks.
