Prince Harry has reportedly asked his old friends and former aides in the UK to help him return, indicating that not everything is as good in California as it seems.
According to the Daily Mail’s sources, the Duke of Sussex is reaching out as things are not working out in the US, where he shifted with his wife Meghan Markle after ditching their royal duties in 2020.
“Harry is turning away from all sorts of Hollywood publicists and is seeking counsel from his old friends and associates,” said a source.”He is reaching out thinking, ‘I need to do something different because what I’m doing is clearly not working’,” the source added.
Some of the Harry’s friends refer this task as “Operation bring Harry in from the cold.”
One source of the Mirror, a UK-based site, said it was hoped Harry’s former private secretary Edward Lane Fox was being touted as a possible keystone for the project. But Lane Fox told the Mail: “It’s not something I’ve got a view on, I’m afraid.”
But rather than secretly slipping in and out of the country, fugitive-like, as he does now, the hope is that Harry will be able to spend what the source called ‘quality time’ in the UK.
This came as Prince Harry visited UK to attend the memorial of his uncle, Lord Fellowes, last week. During that visit, the estranged brothers’ joined fellow mourners at Lord Fellowes’ funeral in Norfolk and it was the first time they have appeared in the same room together since May 2023 – for King Charles’s Coronation.
The Mail said Harry and Meghan had parted ways with American PR adviser Christine Weil Schirmer who took up a job with PR company Brunswick last month and stopped working for the Sussexes late last year.
