Is Prince Harry growing angry and frustrated in US? Here's what his friends have to say

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has been described as “an angry boy” living in America, according to one of his close friends. The 39-year-old royal has resided in the United States for over four years since he and his wife, Meghan Markle, 43, stepped away from their roles as senior members of the British royal family. However, according to those close to him, Harry’s once robust circle of friends is slowly dwindling.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times of London, one of Harry’s oldest friends shared insights into the prince’s state of mind.“He’s an angry boy,” the friend said. “Things haven’t turned out how he wanted. I think he misses being over here [in Britain] desperately and wants to be admired more. Anyone who knows him feels he’d rather be top of the pops here with everyone loving him, as they do with [his older brother] William and Kate.”
The friend added that Harry is one of the few who still receives “the odd WhatsApp” message from the Duke, indicating how much his social connections have thinned out since relocating to California.
Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave royal life behind and move to the US was followed by a series of high-profile projects, including their six-part Netflix documentary, their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, and Harry’s revealing memoir, Spare. These public ventures have sparked considerable controversy, particularly within the UK, and have reportedly strained Harry’s relationships with many of his former friends.
Another of Harry’s friends expressed dismay over the Duke’s willingness to share private details about his life within the royal family. “I can’t believe he’d stoop so low,” the friend said. “It’s outrageously disloyal. Oprah, Netflix, and then the book? Three strikes and you’re out.”
The friend continued, “Harry and Meghan could have left with dignity and decency and not trashed the institution. The conclusion is they’ve made money from trashing his family.”
The fallout from Harry’s actions has been noticeable. As one source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed, “Harry and Meghan could have left with dignity and decency and not trashed the institution. The conclusion is they’ve made money from trashing his family.”
In his Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, Harry himself admitted to the personal cost of his choices, stating, “I miss my friends … I’ve lost a few friends in this process.” Earlier this year, Harry made headlines again when he officially renounced his British residency and declared America his home in legal paperwork.
As Prince Harry continues to navigate his new life in the US, the future of his relationships with old friends and family remains uncertain.
