NEW DELHI: Kate Middleton‘s surprise appearance at Trooping the Colour celebrations, honouring King Charles’ birthday, has raised concerns about her health amid her ongoing cancer treatment. Despite her initial plans to stay away from the spotlight, the Princess of Wales joined the royal family for the first time in months, much to the delight of her fans. However, a royal expert has now brought attention to the potential negative impact of her public appearance on her fragile condition.
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, the Princess of Wales’ radiant disposition at the event belied the physical toll of staying out for hours on end. Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight, “The princess has this sort of has this sort of swanlike quality about her — she’s sort of gliding on the surface — but beneath the water, I think often she’s paddling quite frantically.”
She emphasised the significant preparation and effort that would have gone into Middleton’s appearance and pointed out a concerning moment when the Princess gratefully accepted a seat while watching the parade, acknowledging her diminished strength and fitness due to her treatment.
Nicholl highlighted that despite undergoing preventive chemotherapy, Middleton “looked impeccable” and that one would never have guessed she was going through cancer treatment if they didn’t know. The expert also suggested that the Princess might not be seen in public for a while, considering the exertion required for the weekend celebrations.
Regarding Middleton’s decision to attend Trooping the Colour, Nicholl stated that the Princess made the call “alone,” without external pressure, viewing the event as “a goal” after “she turned a corner in her treatment.”
With the sign-off from her medical team and the full support of the King and her husband, Middleton felt compelled to be there. The royal expert also noted the relaxed and happy demeanour of Middleton’s children in their mother’s presence and emphasised that the Princess saw this as an opportunity to “send out a really important message that she’s going OK.”
