NEW DELHI: The overseas supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised car rallies in 20 different American cities to express their support for a third term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India poised to be held from April 19.
The Sikh Americans in Maryland suburb of Washington DC held a car rally on Sunday to express their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The participating members first went to the Gurdwaras and then came to the venue, decked their vehicles with BJP flags and the United States flag. They held placards with messages such as “Abki baar 400 par,” “Teesri baar Modi Sarkar,” and “Sikh Americans for Modi 3.0.”
In Atlanta around 150 cars participated in the rally, all decorated with BJP and Indian flags, and carrying placards with slogans like ‘Abki bar 400 par’ and ‘Main hoon Modi Parivaar’.
Similar car rallies were held in cities like Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Raleigh, and Detroit, where participants showcased an array of banners, flags, and slogans, creating a vibrant spectacle.
Earlier, similar initiative was undertaken by the ‘Overseas Friends of BJP’ in Australia.
The group launched a campaign titled ‘Modi for 2024’ in seven prominent cities across the country. This campaign seeks to garner support from the overseas Indian community for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
In the campaign, people in Australia referred to themselves as ‘Modi ka Parivaar’ (PM Modi’s family), showing strong support for the country’s governance and developmental policies under his leadership.
