Kate Middleton most preferred choice among 'favourite' royal, survey reveals

NEW DELHI: Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton has emerged as the most preferred choice among the British public as their ‘favourite’ royal, surpassing her husband Prince William, Duke and Duchess of Sussex Harry, and Meghan, according to a recent survey.
The survey, conducted before the recent Mother’s Day picture stirred controversy that led to the 42-year-old issuing a clarification, revealed that 38 per cent of Brits favored Middleton.
In contrast, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s popularity plummeted by at least three points. The popularity of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle saw a decline, with Prince Harry receiving 11% approval and Meghan getting 7%.
Middleton faced criticism recently for maintaining a low profile following a surgery, with some accusing her of being missing. Despite this, Middleton’s popularity score remained 2 points higher than that of her husband Prince William’s, who got 36 per cent approval among those surveyed by the Ipsos poll commissioned for The Standard, as their favorite royal.
The Ipsos poll found that Middleton had support across different age groups, with 50 per cent of those aged 55 to 75, 37 percent of respondents aged 35 to 54, 28 percent of respondents aged 18 to 34 preferred the Princess of Wales.
Princess Anne gained 36% support in the survey, making her the third most popular choice after Prince William.
King Charles and Queen Camilla were favored by only 12 per cent of Brits polled, marking a slight increase by two points since the last survey.
