Kahramanmaras earthquake: Another massive earthquake strikes Turkey, Syria | World News



NEW DELHI: Hours after a massive 7.8-magnitude earthquake killed over 1,300 people in Turkey and Syria, another major earthquake rocked the region on Monday.
A second earthquake of magnitude 7.6 struck southeastern Turkey’s Kahramanmaras region, the country’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said.
It occurred at a depth of 7km, AFAD said adding that the epicenter of the quake was Elbistan region of Kahramanmaras province.
Syria’s SANA news agency also reported that a fresh earthquake struck the Damascus, Latakia other Syrian provinces.
Earlier on Monday a major quake struck the same region, leading to hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries.
