HYDERABAD: Two students from Hyderabad were killed in a road accident in the United States when the car they were travelling in rammed a tractor-trailer on the Johnsburg highway in Kentucky on April 24.
The accident took place on Lick Creek Road, Anna. While police did not release details about the accident, Minhaj Akhtar, who hails from Hyderabad and lives in Chicago, Illinois, said three students from Hyderabad were in the car at the time of the accident.
The two students who died in the accident have been identified as Mohammed Faisal and Ishamuddin. Their friend Syed Faisal, who suffered injuries, has been discharged from the hospital after treatment, Akhtar said.
The three students had gone to the US to pursue higher education.
Social worker and MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan said on Wednesday that funeral prayers (namaz-e-janaza) were held at Daar-ul-Islam Masjid in St Louis. The bodies of the two deceased students were later laid to rest. “The burial was done on April 25 with the help of a Hyderabad man settled in the US,” he said.
The Missouri Islamic Centre also came forward to assist the families of the deceased students, the MBT leader said.
